Accessibility Statement
Last updated: February 5, 2026
1. Our Commitment to Accessibility
WHY NOT SIA ("we", "us", "our") is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities. We are continually improving the user experience of Wiring Studio for everyone and applying the relevant accessibility standards.
This statement is made in accordance with the European Accessibility Act (Directive (EU) 2019/882) and its Latvian transposition, the Preču un pakalpojumu pieejamības likums (Act on Accessible Goods and Services).
European Accessibility Act
The EAA became enforceable across all EU Member States on June 28, 2025. It requires that products and services offered to consumers in the EU meet defined accessibility requirements.
2. Conformance Status
Wiring Studio is partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 Level AA and the harmonised European standard EN 301 549. "Partially conformant" means that some parts of the content do not fully conform to the accessibility standard.
We are actively working to increase the accessibility and usability of Wiring Studio through ongoing audits, remediation efforts, and integration of accessibility into our development process.
3. Scope
This accessibility statement applies to the following digital services operated by WHY NOT SIA:
- wiring.studio — Marketing website, documentation, and legal pages.
- app.wiring.studio — The Wiring Studio web application for wiring harness design.
4. Known Limitations
Despite our efforts to ensure accessibility, there are some known limitations. The following areas may not be fully accessible:
- Canvas-based wiring diagrams: The interactive design editor uses HTML Canvas for rendering wiring diagrams. These visual elements may not be fully accessible to screen readers. We provide alternative text descriptions where possible and are investigating ways to improve the accessibility of diagram content.
- PDF exports: Exported PDF documents may not include full accessibility structure (tagged PDF, reading order, alt text). We are working to improve the accessibility of generated documents.
- Design editor interactions: Some advanced interactions in the wiring harness editor, such as drag-and-drop and precise cursor placement, may require a pointing device and may not be fully operable via keyboard alone.
- Third-party components: Authentication (Clerk) and payment processing (Stripe) interfaces are provided by third-party services. While these providers maintain their own accessibility commitments, we cannot guarantee their full conformance with WCAG 2.1 Level AA.
We welcome reports of any accessibility barriers you encounter. Please use the contact information below to let us know, and we will do our best to address the issue.
