Design Rule Settings

  • featureEvery design rule now has a switch — open the settings from the rules badge and turn off the checks this harness doesn't need, saved to the project. All 32 are grouped by what they cover, each showing how many problems it's finding.

  • featureA pinned wire trace now follows you when you jump to a mating connector on another sheet.

Design Rule Checks

  • featureYour whole project is now checked against a set of design rules as you work — a badge in the bottom-left corner of the Design and Wiring canvases counts what needs attention, amber for things worth a second look and red for anything that would stop the harness being built
  • featureHover the badge for the full list, grouped by sheet with the one you are looking at first — each row names the part, what is wrong with it, and the detail behind it
  • featureClick any row to jump straight to the problem — the right sheet, the right view, the offending part selected and centred — and where a canvas alone cannot fix it, the panel that can opens with it, whether that is Pin Configuration, the component's properties or the parts library
  • featureThe rules cover the whole harness: connectors with nothing wired to them, empty cavities and cavities missing a contact or seal, two wires crimped into one, wire gauges outside what a contact, ring terminal or splice is rated for, cables with no length, route or covering, shields left unconnected, mating pairs that do not line up, and parts missing from the library
  • featureEverything the BOM and cut list depend on is checked too — blank labels, labels and extra parts with no length or quantity, and parts with no part number or price — so a costing gap shows up before the export does

Wire Tracing on the Design Canvas

  • featureFollow one wire through the harness — hover any wire in a cable's wire schedule and its path lights up along every cable it runs through, drawn in the wire's own colour while everything else dims
  • featureClick a wire to keep the trace on screen while you carry on working — a bar at the bottom of the canvas names the wire and its colour, counts the cables it crosses, and clears the trace in one click, as does Escape
  • featurePick a wire straight off the cable's cross-section — hover or click any strand in the bundle graphic to trace it, and its row in the wire schedule lights up to match
  • featureThe rest of the connection is drawn dashed along its own cables, with a marker at every branch point the wire passes through, so you can see where the whole network runs and not just the one wire
  • featureSelect a wire in the Wiring view, switch to Design, and its route is already traced — and where the connection carries on onto other sheets, you are told how many wires are waiting there rather than left to wonder
  • featureCmd/Ctrl + A now selects every component on the sheet, and Escape clears the selection
  • improvementComponent images load faster and stay cached far longer, so reopening a project shows your parts straight away instead of fetching every image again
  • fixComponent names, part numbers, and pin labels on the canvases now use the app's own typeface and always render at the right size, instead of occasionally falling back to another font or shrinking to almost nothing
  • fixAn image that failed to load once could stay broken until you cleared your browser cache — failed loads are no longer cached, so the next visit tries again
  • fixZooming with the scroll wheel now lands exactly on the closest and furthest zoom instead of refusing the last step

Mating Connectors & Network Tracing

  • featureConnectors that plug into each other can now be linked as a mating pair — right-click a connector, pick the one it mates with, and their pins line up one to one, so a harness split across several sheets reads as one continuous circuit
  • featureHover a wire and its whole connection lights up, carrying on through mated connectors instead of stopping at the edge of the sheet
  • featureClick a wire that runs through a mating pair and a new Network trace panel shows where it crosses over and which sheets it reaches — click any endpoint to jump straight to that connector
